Updates to Teacher Websites

The mamboSchools team will be updating teacherPlace between October 30-November 4. If you have questions, concerns, or comments about this update, please eMail us at info@mamboschools.com

Major Changes:

1. Adding back the Font/Font Size menu to the web editor.
2. Simplifying the image resizer within the add agenda and add blog post editor.
3. Updated eMail Sending routine. When community or parent user sends an eMail to a teacher, an eMail is automatically sent to their own address.

Minor Changes:

4. Changed the page title from “Welcome Message” to “Header Title”
5. Changed the title of the “Classes” main tab to “Pages”
6. Other minor bugs and fixes will be included in this update.

What is a Vook?

Check out this new idea that combines reading a book with social networking and video. It's called a "Vook." Simon & Schuster puts them out, but it looks like they don't have a huge selection. Agoura High Movie Night

How cool is Agoura High? Here's a shot of the giant inflatable movie screen they used to show "Back to the Future" on Friday evening, August 28th. An outdoor movie - what a fun idea to start the new school year! And choosing BTTF - best movie EVER! Go Agoura!

New Teacher Training

We had a great group of eager teachers new to LVUSD at the New Teacher Training on Friday, August 21st. Teachers were given their laptops and then received lots of information, including:

• overview of the Macbook;
  
• how to access and use their email accounts;
• a quick intro to handhelds ("clickers")
  
• how to use their CMPS equipment;
  
• intro to United Streaming;
• where to get tech help and how to submit a workorder;
• important websites and helpful web resources.

Classroom 2.0

Why would I want to do this project?

1) It's fun.
2) It gives you an overview of web 2.0 tools that teachers and students can use.
3) It's self-paced and easy to follow.
4) It's fun.
5) Did I mention it's fun?
6) It's a fairly easy way to get 2-hours of PD (Fresno Pacific University Credit)
